A citrusy, fizzy, and spiced cocktail backed by thousands

Bored of sipping champagne beneath oversized sun hats at all of those formal tennis matches and regattas you’re obliged to attend? Yeah, us too. With the temperatures rising, you’ll want to shake things up with Jillian and Robert’s sweet Pimm’s Cup instead.

Pimm’s No. 1 Cup, a spiced gin-based liqueur, has drifted around England for nearly two centuries. It’s a summertime cabinet staple, the bestfriend of cold, citrusy cocktails.  As Jillian discovered, Wimbledon fans consume 80,000 pints of Pimm’s with lemonade every summer. But you don’t need a formal sporting occasion involving tennis, rowing, or cricket mallets to warrant a refreshing Pimm’s Cup. This thirst-quenching cocktail feels just as appropriate outside on the porch or beside the airconditioner in a humid city apartment as in a giant British stadium. Jillian and Robert simplify the classic British drink with one giant ice cube in a small mason jar. The recipe’s citrus trio of lemon, lime, and orange with a splash of fizzy ginger ale tastes like summertime in liquid form. And we agree that citrus wheels and an added straw make every refreshing summertime sip all the more fun.
