This cocktail was originally inspired by a drink that Pamela had at Mo-Chica, a Los Angeles restaurant, that she just had to try to recreate at home. Although its flavors are complex, it’s only 4 ingredients and super easy to make – rum, allspice, lime, and honey (maybe 5 if you count the warm water). The name comes from the drink’s similarity to two classic cocktails, the Daquiri – rum, lime juice, and sugar – and the Bees Knees – made from gin, honey, and lemon juice. But in this drink, a good spiced rum gets an additional boost from an infusion of allspice berries (don’t worry, it’s easy), highlighting the warm spice flavor of the rum. Shaken with fresh lime juice and honey, this cocktail hits every part of your palate while being warming and refreshing at the same time.

Pamela is the creative voice and food blogger behind My Man’s Belly where she believes that ” the best way to a man’s heart (or anyone’s heart for that matter) is still through their stomach.” We agree! Her recipes are everything we want – comforting, handmade, and unique – but her voice is what puts it all over the top. Witty and absolutely hilarious, Pamela draws us in to the stories and inspiration behind her food with her snarky humor, even including a bit of relationship advice at the end of every recipe. Great recipes AND relationship advice? We’re in.
