Soft tortillas are the traditional way of serving tacos but if you’re like us, sometimes you just can’t resist the crunch of a crispy taco shell. Instead of buying pre-made hard taco shells that have been sitting on the shelf for months or taking the time to deep fry your own, here’s an easy way to make crispy taco shells in the oven:
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Wrap a few corn tortillas in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30 seconds to soften. Spray both sides of each tortilla with cooking spray then drape the tortilla over 2 bars of your oven rack so it hangs down making an upside-down “U” shape. Bake for 7-10 minutes or until crispy.
Baking your tortillas will give you a crispy (but not crumbly) homemade hard taco shell that’s ready to stuff with your favorite fillings and toppings.
