If you’re making fresh tortillas or just heating up a big stack of store-bought tortillas, here’s how to keep them warm until you’re ready to eat:
Wrap stacks of no more than 20 warm tortillas in a tea towel then wrap again in foil. Place in an oven on the lowest setting (like 175 or 200 degrees F) or even in a crockpot set to “warm.” In a pinch, you can even just put them in an insulated cooler.
The towel is important because it helps soak up any excess moisture preventing the tortillas from getting soggy. And, the foil helps keep in the heat. You can store tortillas in the oven for an hour or in a crockpot or insulated cooler for several hours.
