Ellen grew up smelling her mother’s fresh baked bread in the oven, and watching herbs, vegetables, and berries grow in her backyard garden. One of her favorite childhood memories involves receiving an elaborately made Peter Rabbit marzipan birthday cake. On weekend mornings, she would watch Julia Child, Jacques Pepin, and America’s Test Kitchen on the television. After finding out that she had an allergy to dairy products, Ellen followed the vegan diet for a year in high school and still loves exploring vegan cuisine today. In between Emerson College classes, Ellen looks for interesting recipes and food bloggers to inspire her own cooking creations.
