If you want to whip up a batch of cupcakes and have everything except cupcake liners, here’s how to make your own using one of our favorite baking “tools,” parchment paper:
Cut parchment paper into 7″ x 7″ squares (for a standard 12 cup muffin tin). Press each square into each cup using the bottom of a small juice glass, twisting as you go so the parchment fits the shape of the cup and the edges stick up, like a flower. Remove the cup and use your fingers to press the parchment into the pan for a stronger crease.
Although you can purchase some pretty good looking cupcake liners these days, we actually love the “blooming” look of these homemade ones. And, because the walls are high, your frosting will be held in without spilling out.
